I have a chance to pick up a set of c60e heads for practically nothing. The only info I can find is flow rates, yr, etc.... Has anyone ported these and used them? Id really appreciate some input before I go get em. If I get em and use em on my 95gt, they will get ported before I stick em on.

So they arent worth porting huh. Ok...... Guess ill just get a set of e7 heads and port those. I know its not the best way to make the most power. My dilemma is not only money but im only looking to run low 13's. Catch is....i want my engine bay to "appear" completely stock. I wanna be able to tell people im stock and they believe it even after I open the hood. Just kind of a personal goal.

gt40 heads look stock under hood...get a cheap set and port them
i agree. you can even grind the bars off incase someone reaches to feel behind the heads. your intake is going to hold you back if it is stock.

yeah the 289 heads arent very good for flow at all. i have a pair of 65 289hipo heads on my maverick. even the hipo's are junk with the small valve and runner size. but the nitrous loves the 54cc chambers and they have square pushrod holes so no guide plates needed.

just pick up a set of gt40's or gt40p's

if you want to see just how fast you can go with an oem head the P heads will be your best bet. I know someone with a fox GT with a stock HO cam, 1.72 roller rockers, gt40 intake and gt40p heads with a 65mm tb. full exhaust and bbk cold air. the combo performed really well and ended up going 12.80s with a 4.10 gear.

gt40's came stock on 1993 cobra's with factory roller rockers, pretty sure they are crane's though however. the gt40p heads were found on late 96 and newer 5.0 explorers and mountaineers

1993-1995 Cobra & 1993-1995 Lightnings.

Lightning heads are identicle except they came with 1/2" head bolts.
