I have a 306 and i have on all the equipment except the heads, of the trickflow twisted wedge top end kit....i was wondering if i go with the twisted wedge 185 cnc ported over the twisted wedge 170 that come in the kit......is it worth spending the extra money to buy the 185 or just stick with the 170. and finally i read that the 94 and 95 5.0 computer is tough to tune...is that true

Unless you plan on going with a bigger bottom end later on I'd go with the 170s. The 94-95 computer isn't that hard to tune but a lot of shops/dynos are more used to the A9L in the fox bodies. But if you want to get the full benefits of the top end then you will definetly need a dyno tune

Right tires, good suspension setup out back, maybe a little weight reduction for the day of the track and I don't see why you wouldn't meet your goal

Regular TWs are great for any 302 or even 331/347 strokers for that matter. Also, if your dyno tuner is not comfortable with tuning the 94/95 computers, thank him for his time and tell him you are going to go find a competent shop. I had to do this at Big Daddy Performance in NJ... they told me they'd rather have me keep my PIH/A9L combo than tune my J4J1 and also that I HAD to have an adjustable FPR or they could not tune it... I did have a Kirban AFPR anyways but that information confirmed that they were a bunch of morons and I would rather drive 2 hours than 10 minutes from my house (BDP is 10 minutes away from me). 2 hour drive later with my car on a dolly down to Craig Radovich at Radical Racing in Atco, NJ and my car was tuned from 264whp and pig rich to 301whp/325wtq perfect A/F ratio on the J4J1 computer without even touching the Kirban AFPR.

Moral of the story, if you feel even 1% uncomfortable, walk away and find someone else. I've had my fair share of idiots in cars and life in general and am thoroughly jaded but at least now my money is much more secure...

Which shop in Ohio are you considering?

I was advised by the shop I frequent (in Ohio) to get TW 170s if I can going to completely keep it NA. Instead, I decided to get a Vortech V3si. That being said, the shop in Ohio is still going to do the complete install and the tune in the month of June.

Here's what you're gonna do haha call up Alternative Auto. They're in Chesterfield at 23 and Gratiot. Lidio Iocabella Is the head tuner. He basically specializes in tuning our cars. Its like 550 out the door for a tune. That is half a day of tuning, including them going in, putting a bung in for their wideband, and putting their chip into your computer.
