Just got new headlights for the cobra. Has anyone had experience with these headlights? They really seem like a pain in the ass to install.

It came with a whole entire harness which looks extremely complicating, i bought them figuring i could just take out the old ones and pop these in. The stock headlights now have one bulb and these have two, is cutting or any modifications needed to fit these? How did you install them?

Literally just follow the instructions. sounds simple. I can't remember exactly how it gets hooked up but make sure that you use all the relays and everything they give you because it will drain your battery if you dont. The two red wires with the relays i hooked up right to the positive terminal though a bolt on the connector. the black wires i grounded out to the core support. i believe the actual harness only gets hooked up into the drivers side and then the rest of the wiring for the lights is all in the harness. Im not positive though

there is no reason that new headlights should drain a battery unless they are improperly hooked up. Be careful as you can get 110 watt lights in the 9006/9005 which can cause the wires/switches to get hot unless you use relays. I actually have the front of my car tore apart to put teh same style lights but black, along with HID fogs and lights. I am using relays for everything since the switches in our cars are known to get a little warm anyway, I can take some pics and show what I did if you want?

So there is cutting involved in order for these headlights to fit properly?

no it could not be any easier from what I have seen. I am redoing all the wiring for the lighting but it isn't really necessary. I am just a former stereo installer that has all the extra relays/hrns's so why not....

From what i remember. No cutting involved with these headlights. When you start adding 1 piece projectors to your car then you need to cut the plastic headlight panel to fit them in. I had those headlights and i dont remember cutting, but i cant be 100% sure.

The wiring is easy... just keep trying till it works lol. =]
