Headliner issue

My headl is sagging in the back by the center of the window. I don't think it's the fabric separating from the rest, I think the whole thing is sagging. Any way to repair this or do I need a new liner?

You will have to take the complete head liner out and strip it down to the cardboard, if you want to fix it right. You can however buy some spray adheisive and spray it back up. But it might show the residue. The headliner is a foam attached to fabric and it is just glued to the cardboard back. I have replaced quite a few of these. Your local fabric store will have or can order your exact color you want. You just want a good adheisive that will last. 3M makes some good stuff, and the fabric store should have some there.

My friends 99 gt was doing the same thing, it was the entire headliner including the cardboard that was sagging. The glue that holds the entire headliner assy to the roof had let go so the rear was coming down. We drilled two holes in the roof bracing toward the back where the headliner was sagging, I can't remember the size of the holes we drilled but they were big enough to use plastic push pins into. We were very careful when drilling so as to not end up hitting the outer sheetmetal and make a dent with the drill bit. We made the initial marks by drilling through the headliner and bracing at the same time. After the first drill bit we only drilled the bracing and not the headliner. Took us about 30 min to do.

How hard is it to get the whole liner out?

Ford wanted $250 I think for a new one, so instead of using cardboard I made one out of fiberglass.

Well I got in the back seat and checked it out. It's the whole unit cardboard and all that is sagging. What do they usually keep it up with?
