How much better are the cobra heads than the explorer heads? Just wondering because i have a set of explorer heads that i was going to use but just came across a set of 95 cobra heads for $475 Either way they will be going on a mild motor with a F cam, nothing too crazy. Just wanted to know how much more power would the cobra heads make, and decide if its worth it. Thank you!

They are the same head unless you get the explorer gt-40p head, which is slightly better.

I believe the 96-97.5 explorer had the GT40 heads which are the same as the Cobras. 97.5 and up have the gt40p which will require special headers to fit.

There is minimal, minimal difference. The biggest difference is valve size and plug angle, powerwise you could never tell the difference between the 2.

GT40 1.84/1.54 FLOW: 187/129

GT40P 1.84/1.46 FLOW: 190/127

OP, stock GT40 heads with no work at all are not worth anything close to $475

or 90 degree spark plug wires give you enough room w/ reg 302 headers
