So in previous posts I was trying to fix up my auto 97 gt, after realizing it had a problem with the bottom end ive decided to pull the engine and do a rebuild on it. Im going with the full bottom end kit from ModMax with the 3cc stock bore pistons and im leaving my PI heads completely stock with stock PI cams and im just gonna rebuild them. The question at hand is if I should get a new torque converter as well, I dont want anything crazy as you can tell from the engine build but I also will always take the oppurtunity to add little pep in its step. Would a stock new edge converter help? Ive only ever built manuals so torque converter are Greek to me feel free to ask any clarifying questions if need be or drop suggestions down below and I'll do my best to quickly reply

New edge converter will not do anything for you.

I will very strongly recommend a FTI converter.

What do you do with the car? You just looking for a little better acceleration? Do you race it? What’s your budget?

If it was mine, I would put a 3600-3800 stall in it and call it a day. Just make sure it’s a good brand. In my opinion, FTI is one of the best.

I’ve got a high dollar circle D converter in my 6r80 and I am seriously considering swapping to a FTI.
