youre right he wouldnt take it off. he would find out, and with that lack of trust he would have for me if he did find out, he would sell it. ask me how i know.

ill bite, how do you know. did you have a gt500 and changed the supercharger pulley or something before when you were 14, lol.

So i take it it's not really your car then?

if it was his i doubt he would need help convincing his dad. not to mention he said he was 15, you cant legally own a car till your 18.

What kind of twisted hell hole do you live in?? I've owned EVERY car I bought. I bought my first one at 14 (it was registered in my name granted it didn't have a motor/trans, interior, paint, and needed body work). I registered 3 other cars before I turned 18.

well sh*t, ive been told that due to insurance and you cant get a loan for one unless you have credit (unless you have the cash), i know i got my first credit card when i was about 5 months away from being 18 from my bank.

theres a difference between owning a car, and taking out a loan in your name.

""My first car was a '74 Nova w/ ported heads, a huge cam, a 4-speed manual trans and 3:90:1 rear gears, but then again every part on the car was purchased and installed by me so I treated that car better then I treated most people. I also had to buy my own daily driver and pay for my own insurance.

If it's not in your name or you didn't purchase the car yourself I wouldn't push it cause technically it isn't yours to modify. Just respect it and don't treat it like garbage. Then one day you'll be able to get your exhaust."

Same here I bought my DD for 900 which is my current mustang. Its in my name and i pay full insurance on it. Im of the opinion your lucky to even have a mach at your age. treat it well.

I didn't take out my first loan for a car till after I was 18. So I paid straight cash. Private party sale. They were registered in my name and I had my own insurance in my name only (insurance on two cars one being a highly modded '74 Nova is brutal BTW). My parents made me have insurance on my cars and they wouldn't let me on theirs. Said I gotta pay my own way. Something about teaching me responsibility and respect or something like that. IDK I never really listened to them.

Then why are you trying to do mod it? Save your money, buy your own car. I fully understand your dads love in that he bought you that car to fulfill your hopes and dreams, but in reality what he did is seriously fuck up a valuable lesson to learn.

Loud exhaust saves lives. Just like on motorcycles, you have less chance of people pulling out in front of you if they can hear you coming a half mile away lol

You would think that. I have a very loud car souped up engine w/ flowmasters. I even blast music from my car. Not to mention its flashy red! People dont look or care. Even pedestrians. Ive had jaywalker force me to stop for them while they slowly strolled across, and they didnt even look at me once, even after I reved my engine at them! I had one driver sit in a median forever. I saw her a mile away. She was sitting there just waiting, even though there was no traffic around. It was only till I got dangerously close did she decide to pull out in front of me. She would have tboned me if I didnt brake, but I slamed on my brakes and hit the curb instead and damaged my rim!

At night, I have blue neon, for the same reason, I want people to see me... ...they dont care, they still pull out infront of me... ....even if its a multiple laned street they will always pull out in the lane Im in! This is the very reason I DONT txt or talk on my cell phone, and dont speed. I may occasionally go 5 over, but very rarely. I have had so many near misses, there would be no way that Id still have my car if it werent for my speed, and experience at autocross. Wanna know why my car doesnt have ABS? because the engineers at ford didnt predict the stupidity of drivers to rise.

well if its not your car then you should have no say in what your dad wants to do with it.. if he doesnt want you to put some kind of exhaust system on it then leave it alone.. buy your own car if you want to fuck with it if your not going to then respect what your dad tells you about his car

Oh dont get me started. I have seen things that would question your belief of Darwinism. Imagine a 4 way stop intersection with parallel parking. Well since I had to stop anyway I waved pedestrians on. They did their famous diagonal slow stroll that they all do, rather than cross where the cross walk tells them to. And do they ever cross the street? No. Now theyve messed up the 4 way intersection because people have to go out of turn since I cant go. They decided to walk DOWN THE STREET to their car rather than cross and use the sidewalk. I had to slowly follow them until I could ILLEGALLY pass.

Bikers are the same way. They think they have a right to the road. And they may, even though they rarely ever obey traffic laws. That lovely "share the road" slogan... ...well, I love how it applies to everyone else but themselves. Have you ever seen a bike rider share the road with you, well other than your own lane? Theyre the biggest and most dangerous road hogs I have ever seen. ANYWAY the reason I bring that up is, on a 6 lane, 45mph road a truck pulled out in front of me like always, and since he was in such a hurry he couldnt find his gas pedal I changed lanes. I was surprised to find a pedestrian WALKING her bike. I was stuck driving 5-10 mph while everyone passed me. At this point I cant change lanes because Im going too slow, and there is too much traffic traveling the speed limit. That and every opening I had gets taken by someone whos stuck behind me. Anyway there was a perfectly good sidewalk that she could walk her bike on, but much like bike routes, no one ever uses them. So I honk at her, and you know what she does? She waves her hand out in a way to tell me that I have enough room to pass her. Apparently she doesnt realize how wide my car is. She also didnt realize how I could have hit her at 40mph, or could care less that someone could have hit me at that speed!

My dad used to own my car. He paid for it and his name was on the title (now mine is) but anyway he used to do things like that. It was MY car it was always MY car... ...so when he dented and broke things on MY car, he would say that he didnt have to fix it since he paid for it. I never understood this. I mean if you buy your little girl a doll, and you damage it in some way, wouldnt you fix it? He would. I dont understand why a car was suddenly different. Its still a gift, its still a toy, its still MINE.
