Alright I'm back again and sort of stumped.

My car has decided to pick up this nasty overheating habit. I've taken out my old thermostat, replaced my TSU and replaced the relay.... Checked the fan, and it's spins just fine. So what else may possibly be keeping it from kicking on? Someone told me if I kept MAX A/C on it would at least be able to get me around without overheating. But after driving my whopping 5 miles home today my car was just under red lining.

Help me.

When you start the Car "Already Cooled" ..Take the radiator cap off...and double check to make sure the Coolant is flowing "Water Pump Issue" once the car warms up a hair...No corrosion or broken Cooling Fins on the radiator? If you are in the Red with only 5 miles..You Water Pump could not be Operating right. Also if the fan is not coming on.Flush and Clean your System...could be just your Therm-couple sensor is not telling the coolant is above Temp to tell the Fans to come on.

Here's some things I suggest doing without knowing what year car you have or anything.

1. Drill 3 1/8 holes in your T-stat.

2. Check to make sure the fan works. If you are 100% sure the fan works move onto step 2a. Turn the A/C on and see if it turns on. If not, you can unplug a coolant temp sensor (depending on your year) and it should turn on. If not, try manually hooking the fan to a battery. Also, check the fan plug in connector to see if it is burnt. If it is. replace it.
2a. Force the fan always on by grounding the wire. Tell me you car and I'll give you instructions. Super easy. Works great. You can run a switch if you want to decide if you want it on/off switch anytime the key is on or just ground it and it will be on anytime the key is on.

3. Check all fluids and make sure the coolant system is burped free of any and ALL air.
4. I'd also check your waterpump. For 4.6s its crazy easy. And windows it's easy just not as easy.

Havent put the new thermostat back in yet, planned on drilling holes though. Hooked the fan to a battery, seems to blow fine. Brother had my car the other night, ran it for half hour while idling with the a/c on and he said it didn't overheat, I'm assuming just because it was cold as hell.

Ok, then I suggest installing the net t-stat with the holes. burping the system and doing this for your fan. Ground the #46 wire on your ecu (passenger kick panel). Either to a switch for on/off option while the key is on, or just grounding it so it's on with key.

DO NOT CUT THE WIRE. EITHER USE A SCOTCHLOCK/SIMILAR OR REMOVE SOME INSULATION AND WRAP IT. DON'T CUT THE WIRE.

There isn't any harm to the ECU/CCRM with this as it forces the CCRM to close the circuit for the fan just like having your A/C on does.

If the fan tests good, it could be the CCRM going bad. I had it happen to mine. Was such a pain to deal with, I ended up with an aftermarket fan and a switch to solve it for now.

Finally back and about to lose it over this car.
Does anyone know a good way to blow a car sky high?

Here's what's happened since last time....
My overheating problem murdered two of my sparks so I had a temporary v6. My overheating got so bad that even with me running the car on max a/c to get the fan to kick on....it was still overheating. Idling at 2k-2200. The throttle body sticks a little however. We've swapped my stock parts from my red mustang onto my other and the idle is still high. IDK. The throttle position sensor may be bad but I've also tried swapping two good ones from my other 96 and from my dad's cobra and it's still reading bad. They also told me the EGR cylanoid is bad. I just got charged 200 for them to replace the resevoir cap and diagnose me with something that isn't the cause..... They claim it doesn't overheat anymore, lets see.

I need a vehicle asap.
HELP ME.

Sincerely,
One very ticked off girl.

Put the correct thermostat from Ford. no T-stat and the water runs threw the radiator to fast and doesn't get a chance to cool.

Overheating is gone now. It's the simple things you dont think about... Pressurized cooling system... it was the cap on the reservoir. Go figure. But it's still idling high. The idle is now down to 1200-1300. Someone pointed out that there should be a sring in the IAC and mine doesn't have one. Don't know how this would happen or if it's the problem.....
