my FRPP says .006 to .008 is the backlash spec...

regardless, address the pinion issue first. it needs to be set to the correct depth and the NEW crush washer needs to be torqued correctly or your backlash measurements are essentially worthless.

i just jacked up the car and will give it a try again today, i hope it works out. Do you guys have a picture of a perfect gear pattern?

I did it again and finally it WORKED


there is little to no noise i can barely hear it which i think is just the pinion setting in because i already drove with the other setup. I ended up putting a .002 shim under the pinion.
