Hey

Just a few questions. I'm converting to 5 speed. Questions I have are in regards to wiring. I have the transmission wiring. I dont have a connection for my cruise control on the new pedal assymbly however and there was this funny little cable to my auto shifter. What is that?

Anything I shoul dknow? Also have 5 speed computer

Anythng else I will run into??

Thanks

That cable did it come from the steering Column?
Your cruise should only go to the brake if i remember it's a hose.
The only harness you change is under the good to the Trans end behind the engine. You have to remove the neutral safety bypass plug then hook it up to your clutch!

Yes I know the cruise control is the hose to the pedal assymbly howeve rteh manual pedals did not have a mount for it. Im unsure wher ethat cable from the shifter goes. Perhaps to the column. It was attached to the auto shifter and when I pull on it I can hear somethig moving in the dash it seems. Any ideas?

Yes the cable comes from the steering column. It goes from the shifter to the steering it locks the shifter so you can only move it after you turn the key.. There should be a place for the vacuum line unless they are newer pedals they font use vacuum.

Do you do a lot of long distance road trips?

Cruise control is the last thing I would worry about.

I had the harness and computer so rather than cut anything I made it plugandplay.Nottoworriedabout cruise.Pedals were from a 94 but no vacuum..No biggie..Issue Im having now is that the crossmember doesnt line up with moun. Off by about an inch. It is a 94 transmisison/bellhousing. I had a parts car going to go to storag ean dsee if its different..I saw people said they used it but I cantt see how

You need the tranny mount slash exhaust hanger plate I just grabbed one from the wrecker off a v6 for my car a couple weeks ago

I have the hanger plate for the exhaust. When everything is together the mount sits an inch forward from where it would line up with crossmember. If for some reason my 5 speed was from a cobra it may sit back an inch.. So Im confused here

Ok I figured out that mess. APPARENTLY the tranny mount plate on the manual offsets the mount an inch! So I put te one from the manual on and it all lines up

Last issue....Transmission with new mount and everything seems to tall and I hit transmission tunnel when trying to install crossmember. Ive done probably 20 swaps on fox body cars and never had any of these issues!

I shouldnt have to cut the tranny tunnel right? I also searched and saw someone had a similiar issue. Th emount was for a 94-95 an dmy original one was torn so I cant really compare. What do you think? Maybe wrong mount? If I was sent a fox mount is it different?

And thanks everyone

The transmission bell housing changed from Fox to SN95, I think it got longer.

Make sure you're not trying to mix parts.

nope all sn95 parts. Correct transmisison and bellhousing. The issue now is that the transmission sits to high if I were to trim the tunnel the shifter baseplate would sit eabove the metal. I read somwhere on here that some transmission mounts for some reason are built taller. Can that be the case. Again everything else is fine except for this new height issue. GOing to go pick up a poly mount tomorrow and see if there is a height difference. My buddy has one in his garage

Again thanks!!

I had to trim around mine. Something about having a different Trans tunel stamping for autos .. It was minimal trimming. If i remember right it was hitting on the shifter mount closer to the firewall side..

what a pain..Also the manual crossmember is definitely different than the auto. Its all in now just need to button it all up (basically hang exhaust and wait for rubber shifter boot to arrive)..Then throwing an s trim on this engine. Should be a whole nother animal at that point
