Ok i have an emergency. I was just driving home from work and the cabin light came on all of a sudden.

Now it wont turn off.

This is not the first time its happened.

How do i PERMANENTLY turn it off?

Cause it wont shut off and i want to go to sleep now, and i dont want it to drain the battery all night.

So come on, what do i snip or pull off.

BTW this is really pissing me off.

mine will come on for a split second when I hit a big bump or dip. I have not figured out how to isolate if it is teh door switches or the light switch which is also known to go bad.

Same exact thing happened to me. I just popped out the dome light in frustration. Good advice on the fuse though... didn't think of that. Someone mentioned that this may be caused by the switch in the door needing replaced. Had a battery die because I didn't start the car for a week and the bulb stayed on the whole time. Pain in the butt.

sounds like you worry too much about a light staying on...

No, i worry about my battery dying. lol?

But seriously thanks for the help guys, its probably a result of the broken door switch that i duct taped and eventually ripped off due to frustration lol, but that did fix things for a while (a couple of months). That dinging can sure drive you insane. :tongue3:

I just popped the bulb out in the morning and its gonna stay like that for a while until i get the time and money to fix it properly.

just as a warning, by doing this bypass by either pulling the bulb or the fuse you risk disabiling that door from the alarm. This means that you can possibly open the door with out the alarm going off if there is anything important in the car or in a high theft rate.
