free mods like timing, removing airbox, icing intake and a lot of practice. Save your money for mods that really matter like heads/intake etc

What kind of rear tires do you have, and how easy can you roast them?

free mods of course..

bump timing up to 14* some people say 16* is do-able but i've always had mine at 14 just make sure you run 93 octane, remove front sway bar and strut tower brace to help with launching, put enough gas to when you race you've only got about 1/4 tank or less if possible. Removing the air box. another trick i've heard of people doing is putting small greased washers on the wheel studs and then putting the wheels on to let them spin more freely, and one guy i know that goes to the track claimed he picked up 1.5 tenths just from doing that.

Cheap mods of course would be nitrous especially if you know anyone that has a kit they could let you borrow for the day...that'd be ideal, just spend 40 bucks to fill a 10 lb bottle and spray a 100 shot and you'll embarass him. I'm assuming its a turbo 300ZX, Because the N/A are slower than ****, i out ran my buddy's when my car was bone stock by about 3 cars lol.

wtf? :bs: that's the biggest bullshit I've ever heard.. do you realize that your wheels don't spin on your studs?

The problem here is not that your claiming you've done it, rather that you've passed it on. That is probably the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard, and the fact your passing it on to some other poor soul, is fucking stupid. Seriously, put your tool box away, pick up another hobby.

I said I had heard of it. Asked the guy that mentioned it to me. He said it's not on the wheel studs but that he puts them in behind the rotor to keep the inside pad from touching at all and it let's the wheel. Spin more freely. and that it does improve his time at the track he said not somethin to do all the time though I'm simply passing in info that I've heard from a guy who has drag raced for years So before everyone jumps my sh1t any further thought I would clear that up. And that he only does it on the front wheels

Keep it civil in here gentleman or the thread gets locked and posts get deleted.

Traidmarx - it doesn't matter how much power you make... if you suck at drag racing you will lose. The #1 most important mod for drag racing is the driver mod. Practice. Practice. Practice.

Paul.

Your losing A LOT of torque running 1 7/8" headers. waaaay too big for what you have.

If the car is TT and your worried, invest in a Nitrous Kit.

Sticky tires will help too.
