G'day all!
I'm in Brisbane QLD now, Sydney last week, and will be in Cairns/Port Douglas for two weeks after that diving the Great Barrier Reef.
I've seen two _new_ RHD GTs on the road so far. One in Sydney and one here in Brisbane. Seeing them was pretty cool. I got to drive right up along the right side of one yesterday.
My wife and I visited a place called The Barn and Scotty's Garage yesterday outside of Toowoomba west of Brisbane. That was really fun! We had lunch in The Barn. I had their Aussie Burger which was truly excellent. We got a personal tour of the Garage by Scotty himself. Cool guy and a true Ford fan.
Our rental car is an MG! Hell I didn't know they were even still in business. It's a pretty nice mid sized SUV with a small 4 cylinder turbo. They seem to be very popular with the rental companies here.
I'll post some pics once I return. They're on a different phone. Sorry, I didn't get any pics of the RHD GTs (I was driving). I will try though.
Cheers mate!

As I suspected, the MG name was acquired by a Chinese car company. When we arrived in Cairns, MGs were all that were available. Nice little vehicle, but the turbo lag is so bad as to be dangerous. Put your foot into it (a little or a lot, doesn’t matter) to merge with traffic and it's like a really slow light switch. Nothing for around 3 seconds, then accelerates decently. Kinda scary at times.

sounds like an 80 porsche turbo I got to drive one time years ago. I remember reading that they could write the definition of turbo lag and man that was the perfect description. When you put your foot to the floor it would get a little louder and go a little faster at the acceleration of an old 4 cylinder. I think around 3k rpms finally the boost needle would move and then it had the acceleration of an almost fast 4 cylinder...
