I want to replace my stock headlamps on my mustang however i was lookin at a website that sells hid kits and require certain types of bulbs.
I think mine takes a 9007 bulb but i want to put projector headlight in too.
Would that change my bulb type?

I have the projectors in the pic below, they don't take 9007's. They require a 9006 low beam and a 9005 high beam (you will have two bulbs in each headlight rather than just 1 like stock). I run DDM Tuning 6000k HID's in the low beams and Silverstar 9005's in the high beams.

Sorry, I don't. Every time I tried to get a pic they turned out like crap because my camera sucks (the photo above was taken by a friend of mine who is a photographer). Hopefully I can get a pic next season.

man me too. You have me considering projectors for the first time ever, although they would be black.

How bad is your rubbing with the ground effects? I want to drop mine but do not want to tear them off as I lke my side exhast too much.

What size do you need? I can pm you one, I don't want to post one in here because posting a huge pic would screw the thread all up.

I thought about swapping to the black projectors, but I think the chrome is getting along with my wheels better than black would.

The bottoms of my skirts have some scratches, and it DEFINITELY takes skill to drive the car around Pittsburgh without doing damage, lol. Honestly my mufflers are the problem, not the skirts. I have stingers, which are a round case muffler, and they're flat on the bottom now... lol. I love the side exhaust too much to ditch it, the car sits perfect and I refuse to raise it up at all...so I just have to deal with it.

I have yet to seen a good retrofit on our headlights since they dont have a deflector.
kinda why i dont want to do the retrofit on my lights anymore, looks bulky and crappy.

Now on the new edges is a different story.

Onyx: When you flip to the high beams, the projectors turn off. I've wanted to rewire them so all 4 will stay on when I turn on the high beams, but just haven't found the time yet.

Dalamar: Wow only $58? I originally bought these back in 2004 when they first came out for like $360, then when I got in an accident a couple years ago, Allstate bought me a new set at I believe $190, if they've come down to $58 I might buy an extra set and retrofit proper HID projectors in them. As far as light spread, they're better than stock, but not as good as a factory projector. The cutoff line isn't as crisp.

Low beam = Projector
High beam = Halogen

Yea I wouldn't expect good quality out of $58 projector lights, when the Real (factory) projector lenses can cost just as much as what you paid for the lights.

ok so now I am confused, what happened to the high beam? Is it supposed to work that way or what?

That is how they're supposed to work. When you turn on the high beams the low beams (projectors) shut off and the high beams (halogens) turn on. I'm saying I would like to rewire them so both stay on when I turn on the high beams.

This is true, they weren't always as cheap though. I honestly wish ford had had offered factory projectors for our cars because I would pay a ton of money for an OEM set. But since they don't I'm probably gonna pick up an extra set of these and retrofit them like I did on my dd scion tc.

yes, that's how I'd want it. Is it hard to rewire? I'm not sure how to go about that.

Chevys OEM lights work that way
Summit offers a kit that you plug into the harness so all 4 lights stay on.
Maybe you can adapt it to the Ford harness for your projectors

Dan, Do you have some pictures of the retrofit?

If you mean the mustang, I haven't retro'd it yet. If you mean my scion, I could try and dig up some pics. I have them on my computer at work.

That's good news! I'll look into it and see if it would work. If that kit doesn't work I'm sure there is a harness out there somewhere that will.
