Alright, this guy in my town of 30,000 has an 04 srt4, and he got a stage 3 kit put in it, now he's gettin the motor torn down for a forged bottom end for more psi, and he says it should be at 700, now he hasnt done anything to the transmission or drivetrain but the motor, and he thinks the tranny can take 700hp, a stock srt4 transmission can take 700hp?! :hammer: if thats true... wow. dodge hit a home run on that car

ya thats what i told him, and he said he's gonna put slicks on it and go to the track on may 2nd, couple of us are gonna go watch his car fall apart. lol

srt4s have A LOT of tranny problems. my friend has one and he blew his transmission 3 times (not all times he was gettin on it) but their trannys fail alot for some reason. those cars with boost can make good numbers but i doubt it's 700s

well he told me he's gettin a forged bottom end. so apparently not. or he's total bull shiting. he doesn't know fuck all except what the builders told him they did to it. i hate the guy personally so i hope it effing explodes lol

Im not stickin up for the skittle but stage 4's ( i know you said 3) can push that much... but its not really a "SRT4" anymore. Thats a shit load of work that you have to do. I dont care what people say about those cars, my buddy has one, and with simple waste gate and exhaust its quick...

It seems that Dodge made the same mistake with the SRT4 as the SRT10 because they just threw motors into a platform. The viper trucks blow clutches because they did not change the clutch or tranny to handle the weight of the truck. They detuned the trucks instead of putting better clutches. And from what I've seen in the SRT4's, broken axles on stock and just a lil over stock power. Yes, they are pretty quick, but who wants something that can't handle stock power?

i'll stilll take an srt-10 over a lightninin' i can get a new clutch...oh and a s/c and put the f*cker in orbit

any car taking 700 hp on a stock tranny is boooshit...same for all the other driveline components...

supporting mods are SO important...and its SO boring to tell people about your stage 3 clutch or lcas hahahahahahaha but it's important fo' real

ive seen those things built with an aftermarket turbo and only put out 350-400 horse, ive only ever seen one that had way shit ton more work to it put out 450-500, but then again if i put $10,000 into an effin escort it be quick too, damn it must suck for those tuner guys to have to spend that kind of money to make something fast
