Hit and run

So yesterday some dude decided to get over into my lane and scrapped up against my car then RAN! I ran after him but i stopped and alerted a police what was going on so he jumped in and put his lights on. Ended up blocks away from where he hit my car. HIT and run.. jeez.. people now days piss me off.

So my question is:

He scrapped me up pretty good and put 1 dent in my fender . He also hit my wheel somehow. The cop (fellow mustang notch owner) told me to get my insurance to look @ everything. Alignment, suspension because the fu*** hit my wheel. Does that sound about right?

The damage is not bad and some might say, "what the hell", but i cant do that. Its there and i know its there. Im not even sure if this damage is enough for insurance to even take care.

And he doesn't have insurance... so yeppie. the ****** shouldn't been on the road. I dont even feel comfortable driving this car anymore. Last Friday some guy @ wendys almost took out my quarter panel with his pickup truck bed but i blew my horn and he stopped 1 inch away from it.... now this.

So the officer caught him right? I hope he gets hit with a bunch if charges like leaving the scene of an accident. I HATE Hit and runners. I still remember like 3 years back waking up at like 9am on a saturday, still tired, driving my car to the bank and the realizing that my door wasn't closing right, then I saw the huge ass dent! I don't know how insurance works down in the US, but shouldn't your insurance cover that? Mine did...

Pictures look worth a call to your insurance to ask them if it would be worth a claim. I know your state has different laws regarding insurance and don't know what type you have so keep in mind, my advise is based on full coverage and mi. is a no fault state. If your deductible and the damage are real close dollar wise I likely wouldn't make a claim as rate increase would be likely. Big dollar difference and I would claim it. Pictures appear to be at least $2,000 damage being wheel, fender, bumper, alignment and frame check, paint. Other consideration would be if dollars are too high what is your buy back option.

People drive bad everywhere regardless of what you drive. If you were in a junker or a fancy primo ride and you could be forced into this same thought of discomfort driving whatever. Glad you were not hurt is the first importance.

Yes the officer caught the asshole. Told me he was going to write him some tickets. He left handcuffed in the police car and i left in my car straight to work. My insurance will pay for unsecured motorist so im covered 100%. The police report is checked as, "hit and run" with all his information. I have court 3 months from now for this and i will be there.. even if im sick as dog.. i will be there! If im not there.. then they will DROP all his charges for this.. NO WAY!

Filed my claim and now im waiting on a return call from the adjuster..

Are tie rod ends suppose to be even when parked on even ground or will one bend more than the other? (The part in the rubber boot looks bent) I thought it was normal because the car is lowered.

I wasnt pissed @ 1st, but now i am i thought the dent was the only problem. I just found out the whole fender piece ois fucked up. There is no gap between the fender and door now so the fucking door CLUNKS when i open it. WTF!!

tie rod ends are suppose to be parallel with the control arms. So yours look about right.
