Interesting, none of the Cobra Rs came with hood pins and they were meant for track use so Idk. I was going to add hood pins when i got my R hood but since I got an OEM hood i figured why bother.

Do you think they will give you a check for what the estimate will be? All of my dealings with insurance Co's has been that they would only cut the check to the shop they thought was doing the work so you kind of had to know someone if you wanted to do it yourself.
no wen someone keyed my car i told them i was going to do the paint and body work so they cut me a check. they said that if i decide to do the work, granted it be enough to cover everything then tey will cut me a check when they come look at it

They will ALWAYS give you the check if that's your request.
Giving the check right to the body shop is a big mistake anyway.
Think about it...If i was paying you $1500 to do some work, and you could do the work for $1000, are you going to give me the money back? i doubt it. A lot of shops will do it as cheap as possible and take the extra profit.
Now, if you just have them do the work and then give you the bill, you know that it's done right. if your check isn't enough, have the shop contact your insurance for the suplemental check.

Mine are the FRPP ones and they have wires on them, so if I forget, they dangle in front of my car lol. I'm with ryclef on the whole not factory hood thing, if it's aftermarket fiberglass or CF, I am 100% of the time putting in hood pins, better safe then sorry!MustangMoser said:
Sux man.. I know..I had this happen to me back in November.. I had a Cobra R 2" cowl..insurance came out..I gave them the price of the hood that American Muscle shows, and we went from there. They not only paid for my aftermarket hood, I got a windshield, windshield wiper, money for my banner I had across the windshield, and THEN some. So hopefully they'll be good to you...
