I just noticed that there is a hose blocked off (theres a screw in it) that goes to the EGR and when I plug the hose into the egr, the car almost dies... just wondering why the hose would be blocked off and why it does that when i plug it in the egr?

Re: Hose blocked off?

are you refering to the green(i believe) vacuum line that should have a 90 degree angle boot on the end of it?
If you egr tube is hooked up to the header, then i wouldn't know why they wouldn't hook up the vacuum line to the EGR
to make it fully functional.

That hose should go into the EGR solenoid that is in your passenger side fender...A hose should come off that solenoid into that port onto the EGR itself. The solenoid switches the EGR system on and off by applying vacuum when the PCM tells it to...Good luck!

there should be 3 vacuum lines coming out of your fender, one comes off your intake and goes into the fender...One comes from the solenoid in the fender and connects to that empty port on the egr, and one goes to the metal tube that runs above your passenger side headers...pull out the lining in your passenger side fender and see if anything is in there...If not, then I would just leave it...Good Luck

I'll check and see. Where is that blocked hose supposed to go though?
