I'm planning out what parts I'm going to buy for my engine build in March. I'm shooting for a 2V 300 RWHP N/A engine. For the heads, I was thinking about using Patriot Heads. Anyone have experiance? VT Heads are $800 more expensive. I've read that the Stage 3 Heads are crap. Is that true? Should I stick with Stage 2's? Are the gains better with Patriot Stage 2 or 3 Heads than with stock P&P PI with a set of VT Stage 2 N/A cams?
Just replied to you over on Corral but its worth mentioning again...Patriots are just P&P'd stock heads and not even good ones at that...
Hear more negative comments then negative... bottem line... PI heads = Patriots for the most part... and Patriots just ain't worth the $$$
i live 30 min away from where patriot is and i see alot of returned heads when i was up there looking at them. i found a used set of vt's for alot less then new stage 3 patriots. they were in excellent shape and did well for 30k miles till i sold them.
I would like to use either VT or Fox but they're more expensive. If I can find a set of low mileage used VT heads, I'd snatch them up.
Another vote for NO on Patriot Heads. I don't have any experience with them, but I've have never once read anything good about them...
I would skip on the Patriot heads. Their flow numbers really aren't that good for what you pay for them.I belive their bad quality issues still exist and they have a bad reputation. Get the VT or MPH heads instead. :thumb:
From what i hear the QC issues supposedly have been dealt with but do you want to take the chance and be the one who gets a F'ed up set and proves everyone right.
