Well.. I have a thread for red car.. so I decided I should open one up for green car. Green car I bought some 12 years ago, bone stock with 22k miles on it out of Ohio.

The car evolved as most cars do and here we are today. Car blew a head gasket so the engine was pulled and now im in the process of reassembly. This car has been a basket case ever since going turbo 8 years ago.

Anyway. Here's some progress. New Ford oem gaskets on my freshly decked heads. Reinstalled the turbo cams

Even though I'm excited to get it back together, it almost pains me having to put this turbo kit back on again since I no longer race the car. Had the kit up for sale or trade 4 months and didn't get much attention for it. 1 person offered a ported cobra tork tek kit and one person I tried working out a deal for had a vortech v2 TI trim, but that one fell through. Anyway. Here's the mod list on the car

Yes they’re not small by any means . The last fox lake p51 intake I seen was on here too . Probably over 10 years ago was a white and in poor shape but had a blower

Thinking about recoating or painting mine a different color scheme. Not super happy with the gloss black. I painted my timing cover and valve covers gold last time I had the engine out. So if I redo it.. nows the time. Just don't know what color if I am to change it up

Would solve all of your back pressure issues and make your car wayyy faster. But your compression will seriously limit your boost levels unless you're on E85 and squirting some straight methy meth.

Well since I am getting to the point of saying fuck this with the red car being at the paint shop And the guy keep screwing me over by not painting it. I'm considering picking it up and doing it myself. So this means I need a place to store the naked red car. Since Noone has shown any serious interest in the turbo kit. Back together everything goes.

I painted the valve covers and timing cover satin black. As well as the water pu.p and tensioner. Reassembled and timed the top end with the freshly decked heads.Screenshot_20240621_202054_Gallery.jpg

Wrapped the drivers header IN DEI titanium(last pipe to be wrapped pre turbo) and sprayed it with dei high temp silicone coating.Screenshot_20240621_202116_Gallery.jpg

Put the car up on jack stands outside. And dropped thr K member,A arms/knuckles/steering rack. Screenshot_20240621_202124_Gallery.jpg

Put the headers on, and transferred it to the k member on dollies. Added the flywheel/clutch/tranny, then started dressing the engine to completion.Screenshot_20240621_202213_Gallery.jpg

Added my super cool meth ring.
Screenshot_20240621_202232_Gallery.jpg

Added the hotside and turbo system.
Screenshot_20240621_202339_Gallery.jpg

Added the wiring harness.. tucked enough for you? :)

Duct Taped the nozzle of my new super exciting shop vac to the down pipe and set it to the blow function. Then proceeded to spray all of the Vee bands, t4 flange and header flanges with windex. Unfortunately... the passenger header leaked like I didn't even put a gasket in there... which i had an mls in there.. Screenshot_20240621_202404_Gallery.jpgScreenshot_20240621_202410_Gallery.jpg

The drivers was substantially better but still had a leakScreenshot_20240621_202420_Gallery.jpg

Pulled everything off and am now waiting for a free Saturday at work do I can fix these stupid things once and for all. But that's looking like it will be 2-3 Saturdays out. Then I go on vacation so in reality I won't have e them all back on to test till August. :( such a bummer. So that puts the whole grab red car plan on the serious back seat.. another summer without a reliable mustang to drive. Been like 8 in a row. So.. nothing new? Anyway. New mls cometic header gaskets arrived so we wait...Screenshot_20240621_202437_Gallery.jpg

Well. I was going to skip a leak down test out of Supreme confidence and faith(impatience) but my better judgment. But decided to perform one for peace of kind... yeah! Good thing I did. Yeah

The numbers on the right that are 2-3 percent higher are the more accurate numbers. So I took it back apart and pulled the drivers head and started lapping the exhaust valves. Fixed 2 of them. Have to work on cyl 4 exhaust more to lap a little more on and found intake valve 1 and 2 are leaking horribly. So those need to be lapped as well. My scamazon chuck came apart so I have to wait for a new chuck to arrive that will go on the valve and clear the cam tower.

Props to Garrit for motivating me to lap the valves.

Yowzah! That’s an impressive list. Was the car “green with envy” because Big Red was getting all the attention? Sounds like that’s about to change! :)

Are those just shaved valve covers? they look sooo good! What fittings did you use to convert the PCV holes to AN?

Shaved oem valve covers, lightly used an angle grinder on the bulk and a Drexel around the filler neck. Then lightly sand smooth. Use a good adhesion promoter. A few coats of filler primer. Can smooth further if needed. Then a sealer primer and a top coat. If you go gloss you will need to put in a lot of extra work making it smooth and flat, satin will hide a lot of imperfections.

I will take a glance at where I purchased those and let you know. I ended up opening the drivers side hole and used a similar grommet to the passenger pcv to hold the push in adapters.

Earls performance part numbers
LS0038ERL 8 an
LS0039ERL 10 an

That's pretty funny. Yeah I need to give the green car love and just finish up what needs to be done and tune it. Then iron out some suspension clunks, add the saleen 3 piece wing and do some paint correction. Maybe paint some 18" saleen wheels hypercoat or black chrome. Found the only manufacturer for hypercoat and black chrome paints.
