With all the engine bay cleaning I am doing, I really do NOT want to keep the EGR crap now. The current tune I run with my trickflow set up is set up with the egr, so how bad will it go with out it? I would not have a problem going to get a tune for it but the shop is a good 45-60 mins away so is it not that big of a deal to make it there with out it or would I need to remove it once I got down there?

Your definitely going to get a CEL and I would imagine without being turned off in the tune probably run like shit man

You'll throw codes and it might run like crap. I'd keep the EGR stuff on there until after you can turn it off in the tune.

It's not that bad on a 5.0 car you will be able to make it there with outta tune . What I did was extend the wires and mounted the solenoid in the fender to trick the computer ;)

Ah wires and tricking the computer brings up another point I had not considered but need too with the wire tuck coming up. What do I all need to do there?

I am not opposed to driving it to the tuner and then removing it but it would suck to have to leave it to cool down long enough or paying them to do it...

I have no egr, no tune, and it runs fine. Not sure on a custom tuned setup tho.

What do I need to do about wiring or tricking the computer or is that just to drive with out it on the stock tune?

I've pulled EGR system off of cars with no tune and had no running issues, just the obvious CEL. Just make sure you plug the vacuum system up and really shut up the headers.

I'm not sure about the 5.0. but i have no EGR or anything on mine. Ran perfectly fine when N/A on a stock tune, just deleted the codes.

I would just have the shop delete it for you and save you the major pain of having to attempt to unscrew the egr from the egr bung on your headers lol. Once it is turned off in the tune and they remove all supporting emission equipment it will run awesome. Just like G36 said make sure to seal your vacuum line that ran to the egr, mine snapped lmao because it was old ass brittle plastic so I just bought a small length of hose to connect to it and hid it and plugged it under my upper intake. If you haven't I would suggest removing the smog pump at the same time if it's a 5.0 and you can get away with it in your area.

Luckily for him (and other Indiana residents) we have no emissions testing or any of that bullshit here.

nice same in mass sort of haha, your all set unless they're huge cockbags idk how it is in your state but in Mass any mods to an exhaust system deems it illegal. I don't mean to go off topic here but just curious how many of you have had cops try to get you for illegal exhaust and ask for your inspection papers lmao.

I have heard of some places that get like that but around here its not a problem. Az had inspections and not a single part of my exhaust was stock but it all passed inspection and the sniffer but I am running cats.

Exhaust violations typically don't happen around here. You may get stopped, but only if it's excessively loud. Then they might write you a citation for noise, but not the actual exhaust itself.
