How do I know if I have an exhaust leak?

I think I have one. there is a slight smell, but the car feels like its misfiring...

yes... Ivan12 is correct... if u put you r ear by the wheel/fender well you can hear a ticking noise comin from the headers.... sometimes the bolts back out and need to be retightened

of if you have a MAC- style that doesn't have the one-piece flange to mount to the motor they might need to be tightened up from time to time I have heard.
