How Do I Set My Rockers?!?!?!?!?

Okay for those of you that were following the loss of compression was a bad valve. I am removing the head and taking it to the machine shop. I will have it back in a couple of days. After I get the head back on I need to set the rockers. All I cant find info on is setting rockers with poly locks. I dont have those. What is the procedure i need to follow to set my rockers. Here is a pic of my rockers so we know what were dealing with. I dont have the money or the time to screw this up! I gotta have it going by this weekend. Im moving to Dallas and I HAVE to have my car going.

Two diffrent ratios huh. Torque them down too spec. Thats it

ok. do i have to rotate motor so each piston is TDC on compression stroke so the valves are closed when i torque them down?

it helps to have the engine at TDC for each cylinder, so you know you are getting the bolt tight, and not just smashing down the valvespring. But yes, you just tighten those down.

Yeah pedestal mount you just torque em up, so easy.

Ford Racing said to tighten down the bolt untill you just barley are able to rotate the pushrod, then tighten to spec. You should arrice at spec (18-20) In between a 1/4 turn to no more than 1 rotation of the torque wrench. If it goes over you may have to shim them. I had to dig that out of the back part of my brain so if anyone has a correction feel free to speak up.

^What he said but you can only run so many shims then if it is still to tight you will need a pushrod length checker to get the right size pushrods. If you tighten them down and the pushrod still has slack you need a longer pushrod.

I second that. I always rotate to insure it's on the base of the cam.

Just out of curiosity; what pedestal heads are on there? They look iron from the pic. Those aren't stockers on a 331 are they?

He should'nt need to shim anything. He still running the same head as before.
