Where I took my car to ask about fixing the top is where my cousin used to be the head painter. They had another painter there that did stuff. He races and knows everything about Fords! He races a Maverick. Sorry, I cannot even guess on the year. He has a 347. He is on all motor. No spray, at all! I talked with him when I took my car in. All I know is that he races in the 1/8th mile. I forgot what he said about the 1/4. He runs a 6.2 @ 112. I know that's OK, because he has won stuff. How good is that though? Heads up racing, maybe. His wife drives a 79 Mustang in bracket racing. He's a pretty cool dude. He just knows a bunch about cars. He makes me feel dumb. See ya!!

Yeah, I found that post Hellion94(?) made about multiplying it whatever. I looked on the Top 10 on our home page. It looked pretty well on that list. He is just a awesome guy! I said that wrong earlier. He knows his Ford motor stuff, but he does not make me feel as dumb as I really am. His dad got him started building motors, I think. When I go get my car, I'll will find out some more about it. Thanks!!

round here 6's are fast street cars. Drag cars run 4.90s around here. Theres a coupe around here, full street car.. runs 5.55's and the guy would drive it to the track and back, run 5.7s and drive home. Thats just badass. However he sold it to a douche kid who can barely get it into the 6's, he can't drive for shit.

Hellion94's post:
Just multiply his 1/8 time by 1.564 to get what his approximate 1/4 mile time should be.

Using that, an 8.11 would be a 12.68 in the quarter. However, this is a linear acceleration formula, meaning it doesn't account for cars that make a lot of power, and thus spin in the first half the track, and then back-half very well, but it gives a good ballpark.

My post:
I think his Maverick is around a '72 or '73. I did not write this down. I will though when I see him Monday though! He says he should be in the high 5's. He pulls it on his trailer, I know! He is just a very cool guy!

I just remembered more about his wife's car. It's a '79 w/ a newer front clip. It has a 302. We did not talk about her times.

It was from when I asked about my buddy running his '03 Cobra about a month ago. Surprised I actually remembered it!

Haha, that's cool that you remembered my post.

You are correct in that the formula is 1.564. It is also liner, but it's the formula that the NHRA uses for their safety specs.

So, using that formula, it's roughly a 9.69 in the 1/4. that's pretty stout. Our blue car hasn't been that fast yet.

Very nice.
