i was thinkin. how hard would it be to put a 5 speed in my car? :dunno: i have an auto right now but would eventually like a manual. any tips?

ummm... why do you want a 5 speed? not trying to hate on the idea i just want to see a reason

The man wants a 5 speed. I don't like auto's in performance cars myself. I like shifting it myself and a stick is just plain more fun. The swap shouldn't be too hard. Im sure others can chime in. Actually it should be a pretty straight forward swap if you get all the parts.

i was just going to say he could get a manual valve body with a new shifter and you get the same effect. Autos can handle more power. IMO. An auto with Stall,shift kit, and a valve body owns a manual everyday

i did the swap in my 94gt and it was really easy actually and straight forward. i do have a 5.0 though but swap should be pretty much the same. you can buy the complete kit for them. i found the parts used as far as tranny, computer, wiring harness, and pedals. every thing else i bought new. it ended up being like 400 bucks cheaper to do it that way. when you get the quadrant, cable and firewall adjuster get it all from maximum motorsports. i got my shifter new off ebay.
