I put an add up on craigslist that I am parting out the parts car I got for my rebuild and got a response today asking about the motor. How much is a fair price on a motor that appears to be running fine with 125k on the clock?

^ Yup, the rear end won't go for much especially if its not reinforced and still has stock gearing.
The only thing that really gives it value is if a fox owner is looking to do a 5-lug swap.

that's cool. I only paid $1k for it and after taking the bumper/hood/fenders/air bag crap to use for my car there are still lots of parts left to sell and make up some of the difference.

so today I had a guy from my club show interest in the motor but he acted like I was high when I said $350 and said he can get them with a 6 month warranty for $150?! I mean for $150 I don't know if I even want to pull it, not sure its worth the time.

$350 for a complete engine is not bad, I was going to say $250-$350

Then tell him to go get one for $150 and a 6 month warranty. I despise people like that. Dont like the price, STFU and go somewhere else. Not like you are a wrecking yard with a shitload of cars and parts to sell stuff at bargain basement prices.

He's cracked out for $150. They sometimes do deals at the pull and saves, claim a warranty, with about that price. Generally that's without anything other than the longblock. And we all know 94/95 5.0s are all over the junkyards waiting to get pulled out. You can hardly find a HO 5.0 of any sort anymore. And anything that has good compression is in the $4-500 range out here.

Rear ends are $1-200 all stock.

That is what I am thinking not sure what kind of motor they are getting, I know this one runs but it that is all I can get here then how about plan b - part out the motor? Aren't the accessory brackets and pullies on the motor worth a least $150? What else can I take off of it that is worth $10/20 down tot he block. I am thinking about going down to the block and then getting that cleaned up/bored/built to slap my current accessories and trickflow goodies in? If I can't make any cash on it I will take what I can get and play with the rest....
