I am going to change my rear end differential fluid, and my power steering fluid. Needs to be done. I am going to be using Royal Purple on both. But how much fluid does the diff hold? And how many ounces for power steering? (94 GT)

Did a search on here and some people are running 75w90. Guess it doesn't matter which one.

What about power steering fluid. Anyone know how much these systems take? Its already getting pretty expensive using all the high quality fluids.

order your fluids from summit or jeggs, call them back the day they show up and tell them half the shipment was leaking on arrival. they will ship the damaged half's replacement free of charge... 2x the oil 1/2 the price.

Haha! That is funny. But I'm not going to do that, it sounds too much like stealing.

do NOT forget the traction loc fluid for the rear.

Ok glad you said something cause I was wondering about this. If you use Royal Purple, they say on their website that "No additional additives are necessary". That sounds great to me. But is it true? Do you still need to get the traction loc fluid even if you use RP?

Idk because i don't use RP stuff. If the fluid is for a trac loc rear end and says you don't need to add anything extra then you could assume that it has the Tloc stuff already in it, and if it doesn't you'll know soon enough and have to redo it.

oh don't be mad someone found a way to cheat the system. oil bottles most the time are leaking slightly if its enuf to stain the box its good enuf for a replacement. that's kinda just the way it is.

On my 94GT it doesn't take Power steering fluid, everywhere I read including my chiltons book says Merc V ATF for your power steering pump. I learned the hard way because power steering fluid messed up my rack and pinion seals and hard Uber leakage.

Yeah but I've heard from a lot of sources that power steering fluid pretty much IS automatic transmission fluid.

I've never heard that but I honestly do not know, all I can say is when I got my car one of the very few things that was good on it was the rack and pinion and when I went threw and replaced all the fluids in car, I put power steering fluid and the leak began, so I kept adding it until it just started pouring out one of the seals, so I did research and drained it and started adding Merc V ATF, and the leak was very minimal before I swapped the rack and pinion out for a new one.

Differential takes 2 qts or until it starts pouring out of the fill hole. If you are going to use RP then the friction modifier is already in it. I use Amzoil in my differential, have heard some not so good things about RP.

Cool, I guess being an unethical lying bastard is the "in" thing to do nowadays. As long as you get yours man, who cares if someone else gets screwed over.

Oh ya I forgot to respond to that. I've done a lot of business with summit over the the years and their customer service shipping and return policy has been excellent. The last thing I would
Do is try and screw them over. That's just a dirt bag move

I agree, Summit's return policy and customer service is one thing that makes the place so great to buy from. Lying about a damanged shipment is a pretty shitty thing to do especially when the company is actually concerned about the situation.
