There's a pretty smexy Kenne Bell supercharger im looking at getting, but I don't want my engine to explode...haha. so hypothetically if you were to bolt a massive supercharger to an all stock car, what's the power limit on the stock parts, the engine, the transmission, the frame, etc. This is what I want

max power boost is 137, so would I have to prep my engine or anything for it?

thanks.

Well your stock block is gonna hold up to around 400-500hp, depends on how good of a tune you have. Once you're pushing that much hp, how long your block will last depends solely on how you drive. If you beat on it, not for very long. If you baby it, you would be able to see much much longer. The clutch and trans i believe only hold up to around 300 ft/lbs of torque. If you're going to keep everythign stock and slap on the charger you probably shouldn't plan on running that much boost on it. With turbos i know around 6-8 pounds is safe for the bottom end, I'm not positive if this directly correlates to superchargers as well.

superchargers you can run up to 8-9lbs without much of a problem. every car is different but the general rule of thumb is 500 hp will be the limit of the stock bottom end. i doubt you'd make that much with the stock heads/cam anyway so i say go for it. the tranny on the other hand, some go with 250 hp while others hold 600. really just a crap shoot on that one. the rear could use some hardened axles if you wanted to prep it first but as long as you aren't doing 6k launches on slicks you should be alright.

There's no way a KB at 6-9psi on a stock 5.0 is going to put the engine in danger assuming it's tuned, the trans probably won't be so lucky if you drive it hard. You'll probably snap an axle too eventually if you hook hard enough.

meh, if you take care of your car and don't beat the snot out of it, It'll hold up for a very very long time at 8 psi with a good tune... My dad's car (see sig) is running on 11 pounds of boost with a KB and the flowzilla/blowzilla intake... thats with all stock internals, stock clutch, axles, etc...

It's all in the tune.

To be safe, don't go over 450-500. No worries about KB...there is no massive KB for small block 302's.
