If you're running a blower and are wanting to up the boost, keep in mind that is CRANK DRIVEN. By the SNOUT of the crank no less. So not only are you wanting to limit yourself to say 500rwhp. No remember the superchargers TAKES HP to MAKE HP. The blower can put probably about a 40hp drag on the motor at about 12lbs and high rpm....so you'd really be making 540rwhp (in theory). SO you're putting more load on the block that say a turbo or nitrous motor making the SAME rwhp. Add to that the fact that you're driving it by the crank snout which is supported by the weakest part of the entire block to begin with...the front webbing. If you've ever seen a 5.0 split, they go right up from the crank bore to the cam bore. Crank down on your blower belt and imagine how much MORE stress you're putting on that area. Just something to think about.... YES hundreds on people have made over 500 rwhp for a significant period of tim eon a stock block. Some are just that good...some are just lucky. Like said before though, its all in the tune.
