How much spray?

How much NOS could a stock bottom/top end take with 118k miles? I can get a good deal on a Zex dry kit, but im wondering how much I could safely spray, im thinking maaaaaybe a 50 shot? Do you think thats even worth the $350 I would pay for the shot? The car is essentially stock except for an MSD cap/rotor, MSD 8.5mm Super Conductor wires, NGK plugs, DR's, and a FRPP 'King Cobra' clutch. Those are my only mods as far as performance, the car has eibach springs and strange engineering rear shocks. Do you think the NOS would be worth it with those mods? Or would it just make me blow a head gasket or something along those lines, because this is my daily driver and would rather not put it out of commision. Any input would be great, thanks!

I think if you stay under a 100 pill you should be "ok", just take a few degrees out of timing, and definitely would be fine with a 50 pill. I'm also looking at throwing some NOS on mine before the season is over as it is good bang for the buck. I'm sold on NOS especially after my brother hooked his up on his Camaro. He dumped alot more money into a radical 350 cid motor than I did mine, and I was still able to keep up. He was not depressed for long as he then dropped a NOS kit with a small 100 pill, he can put in another 100 in his kit, and he walked away from me like I was standing still. Sibling rivalry is still alive here, and well into your 40's boys.

they say 125 and under is safe ...i say 100 just to be safer :thumb: a 50 shot aint nothing ..you probley wouldn't even know you were spraying lol ...i ran a 85 shot last year and it was a nice noticeable gain..

I sprayed from 110,000 miles to 120,000 miles on a 125shot...took the motor apart for the stroker and still had a cross hatch pattern on the cylinder walls. I'd do 150 shot with out flinching....thats me though. Of course with a wet kit. dry...i'd go for a 100 shot.

i dont recomend dry...i certintly would never use one on my car "wet only" :thumb:

sorry to sound stupid :hammer: but why only wet, whats wrong with dry. i have never used nos so i dont know alot about it? i do know that wet gets shot into the injectors and dry gets shot into the air flow.

wet kits are typically safer since they actually piggyback nitrous with fuel. Dry is just straight nitrous and rely on your injectors to up theire fuel pressure. I run a dual stage with a 50 shot on launch and 200 shot up top. the 50 is dry and the 200 is wet. IO got my kit from dynotune nitrous which I think is hands down the best. check out their website. dynotunenitrous.com

i know a really good friend of mine has blown up a lot , i mean a lot of 302s doin experiments....right now his motor has 160.000 on the clock hci and has sprayed in the ball park or 36-40 bottles of 180 or so shot....no signs of damage yet.....of course....always use a wideband and be safe with it....he dont let his sprayin get out of hand...as long as you use it right and keep you a/f where it needs to be....im comfident that your will take a 150 shot like nothin...but dont be throwin a 200 shot on it either......but ive seen 250 shots on 302s they just wont last a long time....imho any 302 can take 150 if used right....just me $.02
