So if I don't need all of these grits. What would I get at the store? I would like to try this soon and earns gather my supplies. Also does it matter if the rims have tires on them? Thanks for the write up.

You would do all of it the same way.

For that, I would start out with 80 or 100, then go 220, then 400 (320 if you want to buy it) then 600, 800, 1000 and 1500 and 2000 if you want. Then some polish.

Doing it by hand would take some time, especially the first stage, but it can be done.

Ok thank you. This is the wheel I want to try and save. Whoever had these before me really F'd it up. Do you have any recommendations on how I would straiten out the lip?
