I believe the blender motor in my ac unit has finally given out. It wont cycle to mix/floor anymore and theres no motor noise. I had thought it might be a vaccuum line but i dont believe thats the case. Has anyone ever had to replace this? What kind of time am I looking to spend replacing this part?-Austin

You mean the fan? Inside the car right? Your heat should not work either if that's the culprit.

I think it's pretty easy, I remember removing the fan plenum when I gutted the interior, it is just under the glovebox. Should be a cheap fix.

No, the heat and ac work, however when I switch the direction to mix or floor or defrost, it doesn't blow through the vents. It's stuck on defrost. So it's something with the blender (diverter motor). I removed the bezel and I'm pretty sure it's right behind the controls.

Yes your correct it's has to do with the blend door. I'm not 100% sure if our vehicles came with vacuum or electric blend door motors. But if you can feel your receiver drier is ice cold and your not getting hot or cold or if its just blowing cold or just hit then it's blend door. If it's what mode meaning if it's coming from the floor or the dash vents then that would be mode door. I hope this info helps

The ac gets pretty cold, but it only blows through the defrost top. I can't get it to come out of the front 4 vents (2 center and one on each side) or to blow to the floor. I believe I saw somewhere online that it was operated by vacuum but the piece I saw through my bezel area didn't seem to hav vac lines. It seems electrically operated but I could be wrong. I've never had to tear into the dash before and didn't know if I needed to remove the dash or if I can get to it behind the climate controls.

so you have confirmed the vac line on the back of the motor to the pass side is still connected and not leaking anywhere? That will cause this same problem.

look on the firewall on the passenger side. You will see two hoses come off of the back of the motor that goes into the firewall, and next to them will be a vac line. That line should go behind the motor and into the tree on the drivers side but commonly breaks. If it isn't broken spray some soapy water on it while its running to see if you see any bubbles. Confirm the line is ok before you start to tear your dash out.

I appreciate the feedback. I'll check that first thing tomorrow. If it doesn't leak, do I need to pull the dash to change that or can I do it with the bezel out?

90% of the time it's the vacuum line that runs across the front of the firewall. I just hade to repair mine. The vac line is hard plastic and breaks easy.

Ok. So went out and sprayed everything down near the firewall. I sprayed all the ac lines (which were ice cold) and every vac line I saw, no leaks. So where do I go from there? My next point will be to take out the bezel, radio, climate controls, and try to take a peek inside to see if I can find anything there but I don't know exactly what I'm looking for.

did you check to see if the line was still connected past the firewall, into the dash? Its a PIA but it could get disconnected inside as well.

Would it be one of the colored lines? There's a vac block in the glove box area. Red black blue white and yellow vac lines. I did confirm that the main vent door is not opening. I can put a bar in there and push it open manually. There looks to be a solenoid with a yellow vac line connected to the bottom of it. Could these be the vac lines everyone is referring to?

Well, I found the culprit. I sprayed all the vac line connections, but didn't fully check the length of the line. There seemed to have been a small crack develop on the underside of the line where it was zip tied from the factory. I guess I just overlooked it. So I replaced it with a 2.5 ft section of high heat/pressure hose at the cost of .89 a foot. Hard to believe I haven't been running my ac to its full potential like this since mustang week last year. Thanks to all of you who pointed me in the right direction. I appreciate it alot.
