it should have a t-5 so just use a stock replacement clutch/flywheel and get a v8 bellhousing. dont know if you'll have to switch out anything with the length of the input shaft at all though...

for fuel, i've read that you'll need to switch to a different fuel pump such as a holley blue and run a new line. the stock pump will have too much pressure for a carb motor.

also, just get a stock serpentine set up from an sn95 or get some aftermarket system if you're deleting a/c and ps....hope this helps. never done this swap, this is just what i remember reading last year when i considered going carb...

I am doing just the opposite thing you are. I am puuting a 4.6 in my 66 mustang. You will need a new drive shaft, or get yours cut.
I would use the mechanical style pump that comes on the 289 and get rid of the electric pump.
The T-5 will work with a new bell housing.
I am sure Sumitt or Jeggs sells a serpentine belt set up for the early engines.
You will most likely need custom headers if you go full length, shorties may fit.

a buddy of mine said i might be able to run a fuel pressure regulator but i havent heard it from anyone else. and if i have to cut my drive shaft that would mean i would have to move my trans and then my shifter would not be lined up with my console and would need a new cross member and if its goin to be that much trouble i will put my six back in

yes you can run a regulator. no need to move the trans anywhere.
