I found what I need, conv top frame used!!! UPDATE!!

My top blew open while driving about 55 down the highway. I filed it on my insurance and they cut me a check for $1300. I took into where I will have her fixed. I cannot remember the part name, but it needs the side piece that goes right over the side windows. On his computer, new they are like $1100 a piece. He is looking to see if he can find a whole top @ a salvage yard. Do any of y'all maybe know of one? I'm just trying to do what I can. Sorry I do not know what it's called, too. See ya!!

It's the same f up!! I just have not taken it in. I can give ya a bunch of excuses, but I just did not take her in!!! I finally did though! It happened on 1/8/08.

WHAT Happens when it flys back @ those speeds? does it pull it self all the way down or just half way.

It's only flew back that 1 time! I've driven it on the highway, but I went about 55-60. I have taken it out of the city limits twice is all! It may never happen again, they say. I don't want to chance it again! When it happened, it went down probably 65% of the way. It now will not lower or fully close without you manually helping it! I was told that my driver's side latch failed. It was hard to close, and to open. I just figured that was my lack of strength now! I am told that is a sign of it going out!! I wrote that down for the next time!! I hope I've answered most of your ?'s. I kind of forget, sorry!

I found a top off of a 95 GT Conv from MPS Auto Salvage!! They will sell me the folding frame, $500 plus shipping. This should get me fixed up, I hope! I will call to buy it Monday! I'll also call the body shop were it will be put on! I had the site bookmarked! It finally sunk in to look on there! I told ya I was slow!! See ya!!

I did not know, but the body shop found one off a '98 35 miles away! The guy is going to call with a price tomorrow. It has to be cheaper considering it will not have to be mailed! I'm still trying to buy tails and a steering wheel from MPS!
