Long title, I know. Long story short, ordered a new set of FRPP valve springs for the car. Just doing a quick replacement. My valve spring compressors in my tool box sucked. No one had one to lend me, no where carried them. Apparently i'm the only man on earth looking to replace valve springs in the car on a SBF. Anywho, I was talking to a friend and was describing the manual one like a pickle fork, that you just bolt down to the head and its bent to make it easy to compress the spring, pop out the keepers, and quickly change it. I got to the shop and was looking around after unbolting everything out of the way, cylinder aired up, ready to go. I found myself coming up with using the long seat bracket thats on the seat tracks themselves *spot welded* and the pickle fork to rock it back and forth using the long bracket to keep it from popping loose from the bolt, and letting it rock easily. Needless to say, I put valve springs on with a ball joint pickle fork. It's on the more interesting combinations of misusing tools to get the job done, that I've ever had to do. Dumb post I know

For real. I was pretty proud of myself after I finished up the whole head. At that point I felt pretty successful. Between that and my seat tracks, having a pretty good ingenuity week. lol
