and in the first injector hole there was coolant, just a little bit but it was still there. there's been a trail running along the inside of the head into the valley that i've noticed for about a year.

Since last year when I got all the fluids flushed the coolant level hasn't went down maybe 1/16 of an inch and is still way above the add coolant line.

it's an npi intake w/o aluminum crossover, could that be the problem? it looks to be coming from inbetween the 1st cylinder intake runner and the coolant crossover because there is a little bit of a whitish looking residue on there (nothing wet.)

Sounds like the beginings of the hairline crack and it could potentially let go at any time. I would look to change it out if I was you as soon as you can and change it out on your terms. You don't want to get stuck, requiring a tow if it does go at some point. I'm running PI cams and PI intake on a stock '98 tune with no problems with either idle, emissions or running - not saying it wouldn't be better with a tune, but the stock tune seems to handle the PI parts (atleast minus heads) just fine.

It's not anymore convenient than buying a PI intake, PI intake gaskets and getting the nipple.

about 80-90% of the 98GT's do not need the water pump nipple, as they are already equiped with it.

as far as needing a tune, no, you dont. i had the full PI swap and just about all the bolt ons you can think of (minus headers), and i was running fine on the stock tune.

your car will be fine with the stock tune...although it may idle a bit lower

Livernois is a waste from what I hear.

It's especially a waste when you pay 500 bucks to do it the "right" way cuz it's all easy and it still leaks like that one guy's did :hammer:

That's how my intake started to leak. Turned out to be a corroded gasket. PI intake is the way to go. No need for the livernois. It's not really any more convenient. I used RTV and a year later and 15,000 miles, no problems.

I read over on corral numerous times and once in a pi intake swap only thread that for all the 4.6 2v they all used the same waterpump and you won't have to switch out the water pump nipple

I just really don't want to rtv my heads.

What is wrong with RTV? You are still using the PI intake gaskets. Just also using a bit of RTV.
