reality, look. yea the plates will work(from what ive heard) BUT, so will the rtv method(ive done it, its there, i can go take pics if you need em that bad). save yourself the cash and just do the RTV thing. the only way you can screw it up is by not letting the RTV seal before cranking the motor(i.e. what i did, lol) the worst leak you will have will be a minor one, which can EASILY be fixed by runnin some radiator stop leak in your rad(once again, thats what I did). Its up to you man, but the RTV is cheaper. you WONT, i repeat, WONT need a tune just to run it. lol. dont freak out when you foul out a plug or have a minor issue after the swap. THEY GO AWAY.

Either way you go your still goin to spill coolant in the holes. Push some shop rags in each spark plug port to help with this. ive had mine on almost as long as i have owned my GT and have alot more on top of it, you will be fine, trust me

wow it's everywhere now. I opened my hood today and it was on the alternator and on the front cover thing where the stickers are... how the hell did it get wayyy up there...

I've been looking for the actual leak for days now and I don't see anything. This is my dd and I'm at school/work from 6am to 9pm everyday...so i have no time to get a pi intake on there anytime soon

that's really awesome of you to offer man, If you were free and willing I might hit you up when i'm putting the pi intake on :dunno:

but now it turns out I'm not paying for it haha so I'm just gonna get the livernois pi intake kit.

They say it's "modified" how modified is it? i mean when I do the pi swap I'll want to use this intake, would I be able too?

If you're talking about how the Livernois intake is modified, all they did is mill down the top of the intake where it hooks to the plenum so it clears the hood. The plates add extra height to the intake and will contact the hood if they didn't take some material off the top.

Yes, you can use a livernois intake without the adapters but you can't use a non livernois intake with the adapters.

Like I said before, they took some material off the top of the livernois intake so it would clear the hood with the adapter plates under it. If you try to use a regular PI intake with the plates it's going to hit your hood.

just don't get a dorman.. the guy i got mine from said u didn't have to have gaskets and use rtv like a normal pi.. and mine leaks. its not much but it leaks every now and then. turns out that you have to have special gaskets made just for the dorman that i've never found.

okay to those of you who have done the livernois, what all needs to be bought besides the kit as far as parts and tools?? and how hard was it to install? a weekends worth?

I know I'll need a fuel line disconnect tool and basic hand tools/torque wrench

why is it an offroad only part? I'll need to pass safety/emissions with this on so will they really even notice?

You'll pass emissions just fine. And you shouldn't need a fuel line disconnect tool. I just flopped the fuel rails out of the way.
