Ok so i just got another stang for pretty much the motor,But i get it home and realize i think i just got owned by a cop

list of problems
dash lights no work
car suppose to had trickflow heads but i can not tell
e303 cam sounds like it has 1 but sure slow as hell
temp guage no work so i need to find where the plug is on the wiring harness so i can plug it where it goes
blah blah blah

Anyway i crunk the car when i drove to get it and it sounded very healthy so i gave him the cash and loaded it and was on my way home,I get home and get insurance on it and replace the clutch cable(reason why i did not drive it home)and i take it out for a spin

this thing is slower than me on iceskates i assure u it feels like it is making about 170whp.Now my ? is what steps should i go when trying to run down why thid thing is not making power?

I have recently added a fresh rebuilt 302 with trick flow heads, E303 Ford motorsports camshaft, bbk headers, H-pipe, 2.5 flowmasters, new distributor, new battery, zoom performance race clutch, brand new hankook tires, k&n cold air kit, and i also just added a Ford motorsports 28 spline carrier to the rearend with 3.73 gears as well as new axles. Car sounds amazing. Its got a very mean sound compared to alot of the Mustangs i hear while driving that just stick on a pair of flowmasters and think thats all it takes to bring out true sound and performance of a Mustang,. I had all this work done and i have all receipts. Like i said it was a project of mine so she is ready to be painted. The paint is not horrible but the clear coat has came off in alot of spots but the car still looks great. Has a straight body (red) and the interior is in beautiful shape (black on red). Has original radio and cd player in it. . Since all this work has been done she may have a 100 miles or a bit lower on this engine and parts. I have reduced the price for quick sale. This is a great deal and i need to have it sold by end of the weekend. Title in hand come drive it. I have receipts. SERIOUS PEOPLE ONLY PLEASE. FIRST $2500. Car is worth alot more but got to get it gone and suffer a loss. There is not anything wrong mechanically just needs paint. All work done in past few months.

I would go through it checking timing, tps voltage, make sure the mass air and injectors are matched up, checking the ignition system, how about the fuel filter, and fuel pressure... Just a few ideas... Just make sure everything is as it should be...

^ if i was to rip the motor down and start from scratch what would my parts list look like to build a 300whp 5.0? Because i am in the making of just doing that now that the guy that sold me the setup is no longer answering his phone?Now that i am out of pocket 2500/200 to go get the car i kinda of need a budget build because its about to get painted

some 1 point me in the right direction for my build please thanks.

well blackpony is selling a complete engine that he says is under 300hp...it has mostly everything you need i think but not sure the trickflow kit is around 1000-2000 range... i would talk to him plus he is an excellent guy!!!

You should of gotten a flash light out and looked at the front of the heads, never buy annnnnnyyything without taking it for a spin first. I would of told him, let me put a new clutch cable on it for you... and if it drives as well as you say it does. I'll take it.. and here is a deposit for your time.

The aluminum trickflow heads shouldn't be too hard to tell from the old stockers, I have a set I am waiting to put on and there is a world of difference from the way the stock heads look.

Stock heads are usually a rusty color... alum heads are obviously alum and have a shiny metal color to them..... very easy to tell apart.....

ouch! Well i seen the receipts for the clutch cam and install.HE said he got the bottom end off a guy not far from him and he only got the motor from him because of the heads.And it was sent off to be reworked for the 94-95 motor because the bottom end was out of a 89.I am about to rip it all down and find out why the temp guage is not plugged in and see if the computer might be the wrong 1.Is that possible?

Um.... as long as thats a roller motor... the bottom ends in the fox's were identical to the 94-95. It's only different when you get up to the intake..., valve covers ect. The 94-95 computer should work, just as well as an a9l. Which do you even know what computer you have? Are you useing a A9L or a t4m0?

^ ok thanks and no i am not sure what computer is in it.I did notice the headers are smaller than a civics headers kinda of strange.I swear it just feels like it has no compression when i stump on it.Would it have anything to do with the computer not noing what tempature it is at? also where would the temp plug come from? I am trying to find it so i can plug it in. And is it possible i can make 300whp with just a built head and no bottom end work?

^ nah i have a 96stang in the shop right now.So my mechanic said he will look at it as soon as my other 1 gets out.I looked around with a light but to me it just look like a regular head.I just been so pissed man i just dont want to touch it so i am going to wait till my mechanic can check it for me.

Just look at the things. It's one type of metal or the other. If there iron, they aren't trickflows, nor are they generally worth a crap unless they are world or dart heads

Wrong a couple years of the fox body cars came with forged pistons. Then they got swapped to the hypercraptic's. other than that the bottom ends are the same.
