I ordered a CAI kit off of Ebay. I always wanted to add a K&N filter to it! I measured the part that hooks it up. I got 4 inches. I am sure this won't work, but thought maybe one of you knew how I could get it to. I found a blue K&N filter that says it is 4.5". That will not work, right? Thanks!!

I don't want that filter my buddy found. It said a 'K&N Style' filter. I want the real thing! Thanks, good to know though there's an adapter!!

Yeah, I looked on there the 1st day I thought of this. That was too much for my head, though! I didn't take calculus to figure up the angles and stuff. I thought on Ebay just might have a plain and simple looking one. I will look again now that I know how long the one I want to replace is. Thanks a lot!!

The blue one might be a BBK... or even an S&B

Nothing wrong with an S&B filter

Go to K&N's website. You give them the exact dimensions of the filter you want and they have it. They have hundreds of sizes

Yeah, that's not the one I need. I went and measured everything and drew up what I need. I am not seeing one just like the one I have. I'm going to go ask which will work out of the list. I do not know what I can make bigger or smaller. I just don't know!!

I still have my original K&N I bought for my stock intake. Now I have a long narrow K&N that came with my SC and is buried in my fender well.

The kit I bought comes with a cheap filter. I tried finding an exact size to replace it with on K&N's site. Does any one know if it's better for me to go up in size, or down in size? The guy sent me the wrong connectors, colors, so all I have it the 'metal' stuff! The filter I saved is .625" smaller in diameter! I guessed smaller! My heat shield cannot shield any more, right?

True!! Won't too big really defeat the purpose of having the heat shield though? Won't it look off? I don't know, I'm just typing! Thanks so much!
