Idle Issues

well i was at the track today, and the car started idling really weird...

It would go down to like 500 RPM and lobe. It sounded like i had cams in it. IDK, the car has no issues above 700 RPM and idles around 700 typically. Also on the way home from the track, the CEL went on. I dont have a code reader or anything, and would prefer not to drive the car with 104 unleaded in it to the parts store. (3 miles 1 way)

The car has been driven 300 miles the last 2.5 months, and they have been all to and from the track miles. I have been using a 100 shot lately, and stock tune, but i have 104 in the tank incase of detonation. Will be pulling the plugs later this week to replace, and maybe that is the issue?

any ideas?

Well I would check your IAC controller and your TB for any dirt or anything. I'm sure the cel is going tell you what is wrong, it might just be worth it to drive it to the store and check it out. When you've got the plugs out you could do a compression check and make sure everything is good there.

code was a
P0174- System Too Lean - Bank No. 2.
P0171- System Too Lean - Bank No. 1.

im going to clean the MAF and see what happens.

on by 95 lean codes were caused by a dirty maf maybe it's the same on the mod's

yea, good feeling its a Dirty MAF because the maf sat around not being used for almost 6 months. And only has 300 miles on it since i put in the new motor.

clean her up, pull that battery and see if the light comes back on..

if your in denver (i see it says lakewood) you can borrow my livewire and run your codes. i live in central aurora.

id clean the intake system and see how it goes.

I'm going to clean my MAF and change my plugs and see what happens then. I appricate the offer.
