If I did Ported NPI what cam to run?

So I was talking to some people today about instead of a PI swap just porting the NPI heads and putting a nice cam in, opinions?
Cam opinions?

Prolly a blower.
Cuz I want like 425rwhp and turbos are $$$$ compared to s/c's

Then you will probably want to look at getting some blower cams. You will see an increase in power running them NA but the most gains will come from when you actually install the blower. Are you going to build the shortblock up too? You might only need to look at upgrading to PI cams to make your 425HP goal.

We have a member on here that has a NPI car making right at 400rwhp I believe. He was told by MPH that PI cams will work for his goals to reach his goals.

Read the stickies up top. PI cams and PI intake will net you about 30HP on an NPI car.

I just didn't know you could put PI cams in the NPI head.
Either cam *romeo or winsor* will go in?

dude a npi headed car with pi cams and intake would have to be running like 12 psi intercooled to be at 425 hp.

You will be lucky to get too much over 300 whp n/a IMO

hey guys sorry im late to the thread. I'm the guy that talked to Tim over at MPH. My current numbers are 370rwhp, 380tq. Keep in mind i am an automatic and currently running stock non pi heads/cams. Tim told me if all i want to do is max out my stock shortblock, then jus spend $100 and pick up some PI cams and i can expect 25-35rwhp. This will put me in the 400rwhpish range. i dont want to go much over that on my stock shorty. any questions let me know. Just to let you know this is all the mods it took me through my auto to get these numbers:

vortech sq trim with supporting mods
MPH power pipe
3.12 pulley
paxton front mount
pi intake manifold
accufab 70mm throttle body/plenum
full slp exhaust (longtubes, off road x pipe, catback)
dyno tune

EQUALS 370rwhp, 380tq through an AODE.

I say this in every cam thread ever. PI cams are very close in spec's to the milder aftermaket NPI cams, you can't beat the price, they take like three hours to put in, everyone should have them, period.

yea i have a set of windsors i bought for like 50 bucks and i was gonna put them in... when i was looking at the prosses to put windsors in though i was like damn... all i would have to do is unbolt the heads and then the heads would be off also... and i could just put my pi heads on there then... soooo thats the plan. If i was you and wanted to keep the heads on and save some trouble i woudl go with romeo's

If you can get teh OTC tool to hold the chains it's only about an hour. If you need to pull the cover, it'll be more like 3.
