Im back in with IRS

I am one of the few people who have gone from IRS to Solid and back to IRS.


I had a weak 99 IRS to start with so I went to a solid axle, but the ride suffered bad... IT felt like I was in a lowered Isuzu pup.

So Yesterday I swapped in a 31 spline 01 IRS with 3:73 gears.... I have a few bugs to work out, but overall my ride is smooth as glass, and I still have good pickup with the gears.

I would say any of you that wants better handling and smoother ride, ditch the solid for an 01+ IRS!

there are several write up s on installs into early sn's, but it wasnt bad when we did Wyotechmsa's BAB cobra. Most likely you could find someone to do a direct swap with you.

Sounds like alot of work for a gear swap. But as long as you are happy in the end. That is all that matters.

Ive had 2 different stock setups, a flowmaster american thunder, LM1, Powerflos, a flowmaster dump setup and now spintechs..
