It'll stay that way if you bolt it down adequately tight. I've taken mine out at least 3 times now over the last three years, never a squeak/rattle from the dash. If removing the door suits you, I'm sure the same wire can be found in there. It's solid gray, thin gauge like 18 or 20. Can't miss it. It's a 12v wire so you can easily probe it for voltage while you push on the switch to confirm it. You can T-tap it from there, but then you'd have to route it through the flex conduit into the interior and quite possibly just feed it through without removing the dash.

this is innovative for a mustang, imagine putting a 12" sub and amp under each seat and losing no cargo room? I am hoping to make the final connections today and the 2nd one arrives friday for the pass side.
