Is an intake plenum woth it? how much extra power we talking like 2rwhp? I have a JLT intake and a 70mm t/b so am i losing out by not having one. I really never found one I like. i was thinking of getting a c&L and just sanding it and polishing it out....

i have stack racing plenum on mine. I think with a tune it helps in the higher rpms when the car is starving for more air. But if you wana go the less exspensive route i cant see how polishing and sanding out wouldnt help. As long as you can see a difference between the stock and aftermarket there should be improvement.

Thats what im using. Last year I had the Trickflow upper plenum. The best conventional upper plenum and throttle body is the Accufab its the choice of guys who need every last hp

I used to have an accufab plenum on my old setup, but now use a 6061 race plenum

Blown,
Sweet looking plenum.

As far as hp improvements go, yeah just a couple of hp. I went with the TF for the price and quality since the other standard ones were tested/rated very similiar and a good friend supplied a 70mm tb to go along with it. So it looks better than stock and adds a few hp with only a little work and coin.

If you can find a used one cheap then I would go that route. They do add a few hp and the difference between the best and worst is minimal. From most of the tests I remember reading the Dragon was the highest gain in hp but not by much.

I dont like bbk stuff really. I only ran their h pipe on my car last year. If I had to chose and it wasnt an elbow like I have now, it would be the Accufab t/b plenum combo.

My Stock Plemum is ported and polished to match my TB, it allows the motor to breath at 6k+ RPMs and still looks stock (sleeper look), I feel it will be perfect with my hidden Nitrous set up and built auto setup.

What cams are you running? and do you have ported heads?

then dont run teh car to 6k. The motor becomes innefficent well before the 6k+ range. I shifted ported heads and comp 270's at 6100.

I think my shift points are at 5900 RPM's, even though my dyno sheet shows that I should shift at 5700 my auto likes shifting at 5900+ to get me down the track fastest.

I have my shift light set to 5.6k, so by the time I actually shift its about 5.8k, seems to work good for me. This is on a bolt on PI motor.

Haha don't let Adam from the Misfits see you say you love Accufab. When he had his 2V he used to rip them all the time on here and make long writups on how they are over priced and how he lost ET compared to a FRPP TB and ported stock plenum.
