Intake whistling sound?

Does anyone's cars make a loud annoying whistling sound when its idling? I notice it when its cold out, just want to see what it is and how to make it go away.

Bone stock 4.6 snake, just have that silencer thing remover on the air box.

Also could be the fuel pump. I know mine does that when it's cold out....

+1 unplugged or loost vacuum lines would make a whistling..

it's probably the IAC (idle air controller), my explorer used to do that and after cleaning it, the noise would go away for a few months.

Im thinking its just the winter thing, i'll have to play with it when it warms up outside.

mine whistles a bit when its cold out. then its gone when its warmed up. i have a k&n fipk filter.

I read now that the 4.6's do a whistle thing and the way to get rid of it is to take all the front accessories off and do something, not worth the effort imo. My car is supposed to whistle now anyway :coolsmiley:
