Before I say anything I know I am going to get smashed but thats ok

So I have decided ford sucks....ok well the motors do so I am going with something else....A chevy.
Yes Yes I know what am I doing but its simple so the LS1 chevy motor will actually bolt in very easily with a few simple engine mount mods I can pull all of the old factory wiring and use a painless wiring system It bolts up to a T-56 which you can buy a mount kit for to mount in our cars and then just the typical pieces of any build.

So I was wondering if maybe anyone has any secret chevy backround and could help me out with how I would be able to turn out 500RWHP N/A with the LS1, as its different and responds extremely well to every mod, plus I am getting the motor cheap so thats always a bonus.

Any ways guys let me know what you think and if you have any ideas, build wont start for a while as I am in school and every penny I make goes to trying to round up parts

Heads, cam, and a lot of boltons put my friends car into the 440's all motor. Check ls1tech.com or another Camaro site that would be your best bet if you want to find more, but a well matched heads cam setup can get you pretty damn close to 500.

afr makes a 205 cc head for the ls1 that I read in chp was beastly.

as for the cam, lifters, pushrods and rockers I would call up comp cams, they make some off the shelf cam grinds that are pretty good, but tell them what you're wanting and they can hook you up with what should happen

i'd definitely do longtubes if you're having the motor out. and I believe that it's "fast" that makes a great intake manifold for the ls1, 90mm throttle body opening i believe.

i'm not sure what the compression ratio would bring you to with the 205cc heads, but you could also do a stroker motor with higher compression, it would definitely help with torque :hammer: i think a 408ci stroker is the most common for ls1.

I think with a combo like that you could definitely reach your power expectations lol but you could always do turbo / s/c also

keep in mind that the rearend, along with the rest of the car, was meant for a 200 hp npi lol

i thought he was talking about an ls1 the whole time lol but i guess he didn't say.

the rearend in chevy's on the lt1 and ls1 camaros' and t/a's such major fucking ass, they blow with the slightest amoutn of power becuase they're the 7.625 in 10 bolt rearend, tiniest rearend ever, and if you add gears, nearly everyone end up having the ring break off. the mustang's is a shit ton better but it's still not the best and was not meant to take the abuse of 450hp
