Interior Resto question

I noticed the last time I detailed my interior that the plastic rear quarter covers were fairly sunbleached (vert with dark charcoal interior). What would be a good way to bring that color back? I've tried a few products that work okay but it still looks faded. Would sanding with a high number grit sandpaper bring it back?

No do not use sandpaper on it..all that will do is full it down and start to take the texture out of it.......so there's a few options - you can just keep hitting it with Natural Shine (interior protectant) even though it won't be a fix but it'll look a little better..you can also paint it with one of the many products SEM makes for interior pieces..the interior trim paint they make leaves an almost-factory finish and most people wouldn't even know it was sprayed..another option would be to go all mini-trucker on it and smooth it all down and spray it with base and clear coat

Although it may sound elementary, you could always just replace them too. Sometimes interior pieces can be obtained for pretty cheap.

take a looka t our vendors. LMR and CJPP both offer some stuff....

perhaps TMI might have some interior options as well if there are some sun-faded center console pieces you could cover in leather or something :-D

Thanks for the advice. I'm fortuante that most of the interior is in great shape. Those rear panels and the convertible top frame take a beating from the sun. Painting may be the way to go if I can't find something used. I plan on repainting the topframe soon as it is. Right now the paint is just flaking off.
