For the 5 years I've owned the car the turn signals have acted up on occasion. This week it got much worse to the point I priced out the multifunction switch at 120$ !! I decided to take it apart and see if it could be fixed.

Well let me tell ya it was pretty easy and now works mint. You gotta take the plastics off your steering column then there's two torx screws holding the assembly on. 2 electrical connectors need to be removed using one flathead screwdriver on each clip. Then there are 5 or 6 smaller torx screws that need to be removed to take it apart.

Gotta be careful to pay attention to where every little component goes. Mine had the copper contacts coated in corrosion, cleaned that up with some sensor clean after lightly sanding it down. Put some dielectric grease in the spring with ferrite rod looking mechanism then put everything back together. It took me 2 or 3 attempts with some weird results because I bent some of the contacts but eventually got it all sorted out and back together.

If anyone has a turn signal problem where your hazards work fine but the signals don't or are intermittent give this a try.

the dust that settles around the switch can collect and when the hazzard is pushed, it just pushes the dirt in. YOu can clean these contacts by just pushing the hazzard on/off 8-10 times, its happen to me a couple of times now.

That method did not work for me. Also sometimes I heard clicking coming from either the switch itself or the flasher relay due to the bad contacts. Cleaning and that green gunk out made it function flawlessly
