welcome to my post...question is whats the real point for isolators

im planning on buying the h&r ss lowering springs within the next few days just for now, then in the near future( a few weeks or so) ill be getting new shocks and struts, but back to my question is do i need new isos or is it better to put no isos in when i install the springs??,,

another question is if i put the springs in do i need to have caster camber plates for the time being until i change out the shocks and struts also..i dont drive the car everyday, maybe onces every 2 weeks or so..

the isos absorb the vibration and noise. some say their springs squeek over bumps and stuff without them, i took mine out of the front and took the uppers off of my rears, and just wrapped the spring ends in some electrical tape and i have no squeeks.

I recently replaced my isos after having removed them when I installed lowering springs some years back, and the ride quality is noticeably improved. For the slight drop, I personally don't think they're worth removing for the sacrifice in comfort, but it depends on the individual. A buddy of mine thought my car looked awesome slammed in the front and worth the lack of comfort (course he didn't have to drive it), but not only was the ride uncomfortable, it was also a pain going over speed bumps with even the slight height difference. I bottomed out my car all of the time. Very irritating. Not so much a problem anymore.

i like my to be as smooth as possible of a ride since i sometimes take it from nj to fl when i go on vaca. and i like to semi ride easy for the 15hr ride.... do they isos affect the ride height at all having them on there?

Yeah, its, visually, pretty noticeable when they're removed, but again, is lack of comfort worth it? For me, the compromise between still decent ride height and comfort was worth replacing them. My car is low enough with isos that I think it still looks great, but some people may disagree. Its all pretty subjective in my opinion.

poly isos are a huge improvement over no isos or even the dried up stockers. they are there to give you a smoother ride and prevent any squeeks and rattles.
Running without them increases random creeks, and in a worst case senario can speed up the rusting process. if your spring begins to rust at either end, the bare metal will be contacting the bare metal on the control arm or body of the car. Causing it to rot out.

For the $40, poly isos are WELL worth it.

Pretty sure that yes, its top and bottom. One iso goes over the spring, one I think sits above the spring. Can't remember exactly. Whatever comes in the box when you buy them off of American Muscle should be all you need.
