Hey guys, Needing some input on one of my many issues, haha.

Yesterday I was driving on the freeway, I got in it and in 5th gear at around 80mph it completly stopped pulling and started to shake, feels like its coming from the front/engine. No CELs while it was happening, I did get one this morning for a cyl 6 misfire but iv been getting it for while. Last weekend I had the PI intake and 4.10s installed. Iv had the car to 120 before with no issues but it was before I had the intake and gears.

After the PI intake install I had a coolant leak, that isnt fixed yet, just stopped leaking bc it got to low on coolant. Still runs at the same temp and all the other gauges stay where they always have.

Anyway let me know what I should look for. The plug wires are brand new motorcrafts, the plugs are old but i never had this problem until I did the intake and gears. Let me know what you think!

Thanks SN95!

sounds like you have a botch intake install, probably have a vacuum leak.

don't go by your temp gauge, once the coolant is too low the gauge won't be submerged in the coolant so it won't be reading the temperature...

you can start by pulling that boot and checking for coolant down in there, if their is just pull the plug out and wipe it off. it only takes a lil dab to mess everything up down there, i had the same exact problem back in my npi days.

from there, go over your vacuums just to double check. and check for solid boot/plug connections. youd be supprised how one of those can just "pop" loose one day when your not paying attention.

people sell the livinois adapter plates for the pi intake swap all the time on there i see them come and go. and i think someone on here had a set that they could never sell. maybe you could backtrack the classified section to see if you can locate that other person..

good luck with everything, let us know how it comes along bro.

haha well after talking with friend I think we have it figured out. When I did the 4.10s I still havent changed out the speedo gear, When im doing 80, the speedo reads 120, which is the govener, so its cutting power since it thinks im going 120.

This sound right?

govenor? well it could possibally be but im not 100% sure if 5 speed cars actually have govenors or not.

is the car a v6? Those are governed around 114mph.

v8's are governed at 145mph iirc, which is basically the rev limiter for either car in 4th gear.

No its a GT. Right as the speedo hits 120 is when it shuts down. Doesnt matter if im in it or just slowing creeping up to it.

unplug the speed sensor from the side of the transmission if you want to remove that as a possible cause, however the car WILL stall when coming to a stop unless you manually rev it.
